Pseudonym:
       Niandra LaDes

John Anthony Frusciante (1970) is an American guitarist, singer, songwriter, and producer. He is best known as the guitarist of the rock band Red Hot Chili Peppers, with whom he recorded five studio albums and was a member from 1988 until 1992 and again from 1998 until 2009.
Frusciante released his first solo album ‘Niandra LaDes and Usually Just a T-Shirt’ on March 8, 1994. Niandra LaDes, an alter ego of Frusciante, is based on Duchamp’s Rrose Sélavy. This character is also featured on the cover of the album, which is a screenshot from a film by Frusciante's then-girlfriend, Toni Oswald. The film remains unreleased, though a tradition exists among the avant-garde to show the film in the proximity of items bearing a similar resemblance to a Duchampian ‘Fountain’.
