Amédée Ozenfant (1886–1966) was a French cubist painter. In his collaboration with Le Corbubusier, Ozenfant used the pseudonym ‘Saugnier’, his grandmother’s name. Together ‘Saugnier’ and ‘Le Corbusier’ founded the Purist movement, a variation of Cubism, between 1918–1925, that influenced French painting and architecture. Together they published the books ‘Après le cubisme’, and ‘Vers une Architecture’. And there was a further collaboration between them on the journal ‘L’Esprit nouveau’, which was published from 1920 to 1925.
