next Aaf Brandt Corstius ![]() Pseudonym: Aap Aaf Brandt Corstius (1975) is a Dutch columnist, translator, writer, publicist and editor. She previously was in a relationship with writer Arnon Grunberg. At the time they would provoke each other with their literary work, writing to and about each other under aliases. In Brandt Corstius’ debut ‘Het jaar dat ik dertig werd’ [the year I turned thirty], Grunberg appears as the character ‘Meneertje Knipperlicht’ [‘mister on and off’ or ‘mister flashing light’]. In Grunberg’s work Brandt Corstius is featured as ‘Aap’. In 2002 a kind of literary slaughter took place, Grunberg’s scathing ‘Lieve Aap’ – letter was published in Humo. Aaf Brandt Corstius is the eldest daughter of writer Hugo Brandt Corstius. See also Arnon Grunberg and Hugo Brandt Corstius. Sources: Kouters, S.
